it is under control but it was a very hot fire. as i step out of the way you can still see fire crews monitoring hotspots tearing down the building. when they first arrived they started working on the building. one man of film that all with his camera. the hot fire forced firefighters to this defense very quickly. the multi alarm blaze is so intense that two firefighters were injured while trying to get it under control. crown for has learned that the building has been abandoned for

in berkeley. firefighters are still on scene 24 hours after the blaze. three different addresses were burned to the ground. the fire started in 18-hundred 2nd street and spread to 18-02 and 18-10. kron 4's alecia reid is at the scene where business owners are left to figure out where to go from here. three adresses were affected, but there are a number of businesses in each building. business owners and employees were here today checking out the damage done. essentially this is a total loss. sot - i gotta find a new place of business. i gotta find a new place for a shop and basically get all new equipment. it's like starting from scratch again. the fire ripped through all three buildings until the roofs collapsed. the fire chief tells us burnt beams are now holding up the side walls. a building inspector, structural engineer and investigators, were on to ms could work safely inside. business owners had to helplessly stand on the outside and watch crews pick through

police say at around 1 p-m local time -- a man believed to be in his 70s-- drove up to a community center and started shooting-- killing two people --including a teenage boy. he-- then-- drove to an an assisted living facility and allegedly shot and killed one more person. there was a shot gun that was involved. we're exploring the possibility that a hand gun was involved in the shooting of the two persons that he missed and we are looking at the possibility of an assault rifle. the shooter-- who police say is not from the area --- was arrested in the parking lot of a nearby elementary school. the f-b-i is is assisting local police in the investigation. so far there is no word of a motive. reportedly was spouting neo- nazi slogans when he was being taken away.i've been told that he was yelling heil hitler as he was being taken away in cuffs. investigators will not say if they think this is a hate crime-- but are not ruling it out. the shootings come just one day before the jewish holiday of passover begins. i'm shelby lyn reporting. 49ers linebacker aldon smith has been arrested at the l-a-x

airport. the 24 year old was detained by police around 2 this afternoon. police say smith was going through security at the time. smith was then randomly selected for a secondary screening. police say that's when he became "belligerent" with the t-s-a agent. before walking to the gate.authorities say smith also made a comment suggesting he had a bomb. when police caught up to him.they say he became uncooperative. and that's when he was taken into custody. the 49ers released a statement regarding smith's arrest today. it says quote: "we are disappointed to learn of the incident today involving aldon smith." ".as this is a pending legal matter and we are still gathering the pertinent facts, we will have no further comment." smith's legal troubles don't end there. he is also facing three felony charges for possessing illegal firearms. smith's attorneys were in court friday for a hearing in that case. they will be back in court later this month.to consider a possible date for trial. new information is being released about the bus crash in orland that killed ten people.

kron four's dan rubin is joining us live from the newsroom. he's been reviewing the n-t-s- b's latest findings. they were delivered at, what the n-t-s-b says will be, the last press conference on the accident. information released today, contradicts some of the n-t-s- b's earlier reports. on thursday. a bus carrying 44 college-bound students was travelling northbound on interstate five through the town of orland. about 100 miles north of sacramento. a fed-ex truck was travelling southbound when it crossed over the median and hit the bus that was heading to humboldt university. an eyewitness told the n-t-s-b that the fed-ex truck was on fire *prior to the collision. today, a different point of view. *post -impact fire is one of the two main issues the n-t-s-b is looking at. today, another revelation that could explain why more people could not escape the fire that followed the crash.

in chile. at least eleven people are dead in a raging forest fire. officials say the fire started yesterday afternoon in a forested area. above the port city of valparaiso. the fire spread quickly as high winds rained hot ash over wooden houses and narrow streets. the fire destroyed 500 homes. and forced more than 10-thousand people to evacuate. chile's president warns that the death toll is expected to rise. in what may be the worst fire in the city's history. a fiery bus crash in mexico leaves three dozen people dead. it happened early this morning in the southeastern state of veracruz. slammed into a broken-down truck the bus was carrying business people who were on their way to state officials say four people survived the crash.and were taken to the hospital. next. city efforts to cut down on resident's water usage could lead to some water wars between neighbors. what they are asking homeowners to do. coming next is the reason why

the building is a total loss. there is still no word on what caused the fire. the n-t-s-b is disputing eyewitness accounts of the bus crash in orland that killed ten people. they say there?s no evidence the fed-ex truck that collided with the bus was on fire prior to the accident. a preliminary report still isn?t due for about a month. an n-t-s-b spokesman said the accident could spark a change in seat belt laws. currently they?re not required to be worn on buses. aldon smith arrest smith was erected this morning at lax after he became belligerent during a break alert security check. security agents say he also made mention of the bomb as he walked to the gate. police caught up with him at the gate and he was taken into custody. a suspect is in custody after a stabbing at a jack in the box in pleasanton.

jazmine vasquez was arrested this afternoon after she was identified as the attacker. police say vasquez allegedly stabbed an employee multiple times in the back and neck. then they say she took off on foot. the employee was finally able to set off a panic alarm half an hour after he was stabbed. alerting police. raymond 'shrimp boy' chow is back in court next week to enter his plea. he is expected to plead not guilty and request his release on bail. all the defendants were in court earlier this week. they heard that addition charges and defendants could be coming. the government says they will have an updated indictment in the next 90 days on thursday the judge will turned over to defense attorneys. the minimum wage debate is reaching a fever pitch in the bay area. san francisco has mandated universal health care and paid sick leave -- in addition to its already-high minimum wage.

but one group wants to take it even higher. the proposal could put an additional 8-thousand dollars a year in the wallet of each full- time minimum wage worker. but the measure to make the rate 15-dollars an hour has the city's chamber of commerce very concerned. kron-4's jeff bush details how it could end up hurting those it's meant to help. the coalition for a fair economy is a group comprised of organized labor and other advocacy groups and filed papers at the department of elections late on monday afternoon. this is the first step in a long series of actions required to get the measure on the ballot for the next election. members of the coalition say the current minimum wage of $10.74 is not enough to live on. jose ruiz coalition for a fair economy our membership has really seen a struggle to be able to stay in the city. a lot of them are working two to three part time jobs and can barely make rent. the coalition says the time is right for an increase in the minimum wage. ruiz for us, this is an important measure that we can use this as one piece of a solution for our members needs. but, the golden gate restaurant

association says that $15 an hour will equal higher prices for food and other items purchased in san franciscoand, would negitavly affect the poorest people in the city which would hurt the people the coalition is trying to help. golden gate restaurant association when you are looking at higher end restaurants, they can raise their prices because they are catering to a different audience but when you look at restaurants at the bottom, a place where you might buy soup which might be, right now, six or seven dollars, if they have their cost increase by 40%, which is the difference between $10.74 and $15, they are going to have to raise the cost of their soup to $10 or some other dollar amound and would become cost prohibitive. the next step for the coalition is to get fifty-thousand signatures from registered voters. they are hoping to put it on the november ballot.

series of four consecutive total eclipses. within a year and a half, north america will be able to see a blood moon a total of four times. it is because of the reddish hue that the moon takes on while in it the clips. we will hopefully see that. maybe the wind is blowing the camera around but we can scene to the moon tonight. i am not so sure if we will see it tomorrow as we have some high clouds moving in. but the time line shows the eclipsed beginning at 11:00 p.m. the reddish you will be between midnight and 130 tomorrow morning. by 2:00 a.m. the full moon is backed

i think right now could be ideal conditions for tomorrow. today.an ohio man was forced to let everyone know that he is a bully. a judge ordered edmond aviv to stand on a street corner for five hours.and hold a sign saying he picks on disabled children. it's part of his sentence for harassing the family who lives next door to him. his neighbor says aviv has harassed this family for years. specifically targeting his adopted african american siblings with disabilities. every time you walk outside and see your neighbor there, yelling and screaming at you. you don't know why. aviv was also sentenced to 15 days in jail.but one city councilwoman is looking to bring more severe charges against him. it was a much different story for an autistic teen in texas. phillip mena explains how her high school prom turned into a night she'll always treasure. for most, prom night is one of

the most memorable moments of a young girls life. for 18-year-old taylor kirkwood, tonight is her special night. kirkwood had everything a girl could ask for: the perfect earrings, the perfect bracelet and, of course, the perfect pink dress. in another room her date to the anahuac high school prom is getting ready as well. he's plays football, but not for the high school team. he's christine michael, running back for the super bowl champion seattle seahawks. i'm just here for taylor. it's a blessing. like i said, she's a beautiful kid. i'm very proud of her. turns out the former texas a&m star is a friend of kirkwood's family and he agreed to take kirkwood to her high school prom. i think he's cute. taylor's family wanted to do something special for her because taylor hasn't always had picture perfect days like these. not only is she autistic, but until surgery a couple years ago, she suffered from scoliosis, making a night like this all the more special. i'm so happy to go dance and
